DAY 21 — Full of Faith

By | Students | No Comments

Do you ever doubt God’s intentions?

I know I do. And I’m a pastor. I get to encourage people in their faith all of the time in all kinds of ways. Sometimes I preach. Sometimes I teach. Sometimes I blog or have a conversation or share an inspirational thought on Instagram. And sometimes, my faith is weak…and I doubt. But Jesus wants to walk with us through our doubt and lead us into a growing faith in Him.

If we are “in” Jesus then He is able to work certain things “out” through our lives.

DAY 20 — Kicking Kitty-Cats

By | Students | No Comments

Welcome back. Last week we started thinking through some stuff that God calls Spirit Fruit. In other words, its the stuff that Christians should live out in their lives. Kind of the everyday product of following Jesus. Today, we double down with two of these ideas.

NUMBER 5: KINDNESS  & NUMBER 6: GOODNESS Read More

DAY 19 — PATIENCE PATIENTS

By | Students | No Comments

iPhones. Androids. Smart watches. The Cloud. Apps. Internet.
Amazon. Amazon Prime. Amazon Dash. Netflix. On Demand. Blah. Blah. Blah.

We live in a world where nearly anything we want is at the tip of our fingers and its a pretty cool concept but all of this instant gratification is teaching us and training us to be impatient.

Remember: If we are “in” Jesus then He is able to work certain things “out” through our lives.
Good things. Not bad things.

AND, Patience is a really good thing! Read More

DAY 18 — PEACE, MAN

By | Students | No Comments

If we are “in” Jesus then He is able to work certain things “out” through our lives.
Good things. Not bad things.

Peace is a good thing from just about any angle you look at it. Even though it may seem like an impossibility, peace between you and your parents would be a good thing for your life. Oh, and could you imagine if all that drama at school were to melt away? That would be a really good thing! What if we didn’t have to worry about ISIS or the next terrorist group out there…what if it was just peaceful?

While those things seem unrealistic, here’s the good news: PEACE IS POSSIBLE.

DAY 17 — WHAT IS…JOY

By | Students | No Comments

Have you ever seen that old TV game show, Jeopardy? The host (Alex) will allow the players to select a category and a point value. He then asks them the corresponding question. The first contestant to push the buzzer and provide the correct answer in the form of a question wins the points!

Christian Life for 1000 please, Alex.

“The state of existence brought about by doing the right things, at the right times, for the right reasons.”

BUZZ.

“What is…Joy?”

YES. Thats right. Joy, it is. Read More

DAY 14 — TRASHY THINKING ABOUT GOD

By | Students | No Comments

To you, O Lord, I lift my soul.
I trust you, O my God.

No one who waits for you will ever be put to shame,
but all who are unfaithful will be put to shame.

Make your ways known to me, O Lord,
and teach me your paths.

Lead me in your truth and teach me
because you are God, my savior.
I wait all day long for you.

The Lord is good and decent.
That is why he teaches sinners the way they should live.
He leads humble people to do what is right,
and he teaches them his way.
